Description
A quiet first-person railway exploration game: an endless, procedurally generated railroad through an empty world that is there to be explored, not conquered. It borrows the look of 1996-1998 PC 3D: low-poly geometry, tiny textures, billboards, fog and hard lighting. The same world runs in a desktop or mobile browser and in fully immersive WebXR on a Meta Quest headset, where you can walk through the moving train and work the cab controls by hand.
Archive notes
The prototype set out to answer one question above all: does the same low-poly world hold up in full VR? Desktop, mobile and Meta Quest play were built side by side, and where they disagreed, VR comfort won over visual effects. The railway generator and simulation outgrew the archive, and the project graduated into a repository of its own. LOST BUILDS keeps the catalog record and a link to the external build.
