Description
Year 31 after the Flash. A.C.R.E. wakes up again in a dead school bus with five survivors, on a far bigger procedural wasteland. Take wrecks apart for scrap, dig ruins out of the dust, pump oil, keep the lights on through every seventh day of night and send buggy expeditions into the dark. Then decide what to do with Directive 7.
Archive notes
The sequel to A.C.R.E., labelled v0.3 in its own history, after the GEKK prototype (v0.1) and A.C.R.E. (v0.2). The procedural art of the first game gave way to hand-drawn sprites, settler portraits, illustrated expedition cards and epilogue slides; the game still runs when index.html is opened straight from disk. Directive 7 splits the story into the Light and the Shadow, and a hidden third ending, the Silence, switches A.C.R.E. off for good. The in-game operator manual is written in Simplified Technical English, with sections redacted until the right choices are made. Saves stay in the browser and can be downloaded as .json files.
