SYSOP'S CORNER
Line Still Open
Two small things changed on the board since last issue. Neither one will save the world, but a sysop has to take care of the regulars.
When nobody is typing
Leave the archive alone for a while and it no longer just sits there burning a hole in your phosphor. Press F8 for SETUP and pick a screen saver: Starfield, Archive Terminal, Project Slideshow, File Rain, Bouncing Floppy, Flying Clock, DEFCON or Codefall. Choose Random and the archive picks one of them for you each time. SETUP also sets how long it waits, from one minute to fifteen, and [ PREVIEW ] runs your choice right away so you do not have to sit on your hands.
Watch the floppy for a minute. It drifts across the screen and bounces off the edges like it has somewhere to be. It does not. And if it ever lands exactly in a corner, the archive notices. Everyone waits for the corner.
Sign the book
Every board worth calling had a guestbook, and now this one does too. Press F9 for GUESTBOOK, pick a handle, and leave a line for the sysop and whoever logs on after you. No account, no registration. Messages may wait a little for approval before they show up, the way the good boards always did.
Tell us which build you played first. Tell us which rival colony you picked. Tell us your neighbors have complained about the PC speaker.
The archive is open. The guestbook is waiting. Leave your handle before the line goes dead.
