The World Went Silent
Every modem user knew the sound of a call ending badly. The handshake screams, the line goes quiet, and two words come up on the terminal: NO CARRIER. Nobody hung up on purpose. The signal just stopped.
Most of the builds in this issue arrived after that kind of silence. A floppy in a desk drawer at a dead steelworks. A zip file from a BBS that went down for "temporary maintenance" and never came back. A ruined city where the only things still moving are machines. A colony in year 23 after the Flash that wants nothing more than a radio mast loud enough to be heard.
Issue 001 went back to the beginning, when LOST BUILDS was one green wireframe flight and a folder of sketches. That folder has grown. Drive L: now holds war machines, rival colonies, a factory comedy, a small-town mystery and a helicopter drawn in ballpoint pen. The shelf needed a second issue.
The world went silent. The files survived.
This is not a list of everything new. It is a walk through the builds that hold up when you open them cold: what they are, what they get right, and what the surviving copies say about themselves.
Pick up the handset. The line is still open.
